DBT Skills Workshop for Teens

Skill-Building workshop for teens who want to learn how to gain control of their emotions, improve their relationships, and live a more joyful life.

Some teens experience their emotions like a tidal wave. Their emotional reactions can seem to come on very strongly and very quickly. It can seem like your teen’s response is out of proportion to the situation and that they aren’t able to calm down after something upsets them.

Your teen may make critical statements about themself, engage in self-harm, or feel like a burden to those around them.

It may feel like your teens’ emotions control their life and your home. You may feel like you can’t do anything right.

You may even fear that things could get dangerously worse.

Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Workshop uses an evidence-based model to teach your teen to:

  • Learn to become aware of how their feelings are connected to their other experiences so they can pause and make intentional choices rather than reacting in problematic ways

  • Develop reliable coping strategies to handle distress so they no longer rely on self-destructive or impulsive behaviors

  • Learn to communicate effectively, ask for help, assert their needs, and maintain healthy relationships

The investment for this bi-weekly workshop is $50 for each 60 minute session.

The format of this experience makes it ineligible for insurance reimbursement.
